What you share.
When you subscribe to Kitchen Notes, your email address and any other details you choose to provide are used to send the newsletter, manage your subscription, and share updates about Preserving Preserves and the book. If you email Dan, your email address and message are used to respond.
Kitchen Notes & Kit.
Kit handles newsletter forms, subscriber records, confirmation emails, and email delivery. It may record signup details such as the referring page, browser information, IP address, and subscription status. Its form may use cookies or browser storage to remember whether you have seen it or subscribed.
Newsletter emails may measure opens and link clicks to help understand which content is useful. These signals are imperfect: email privacy features and automated systems can affect the results. Kit explains its handling of subscriber data in its Data Processing Addendum.
Running the website.
Netlify hosts this site and processes technical request information, including IP addresses, to deliver pages, maintain service, and protect against abuse. See Netlify’s privacy information.
The signup form uses Google reCAPTCHA to help prevent automated signups. It uses cookies and technical signals for this check. Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
Netlify Analytics uses server-side request data to report pageviews, estimated visitors, referring websites, and general visitor locations. Visitor estimates are based on IP addresses and do not necessarily represent individual people. The website does not currently include advertising pixels or a separate website analytics script.
Your choices.
Use the unsubscribe link in any Kitchen Notes newsletter to stop receiving it. Unsubscribing stops newsletter delivery; it does not necessarily delete existing records.
To request access, correction, or deletion of your information, or ask a privacy question, email Dan@preservingpreserves.com. You may be asked to verify that the email address belongs to you before a request is completed.
You can control cookies and browser storage through your browser settings. Blocking them may affect signup or whether the form remembers your choices.

Links to YouTube, Instagram, X, and other services take you to websites with their own privacy practices. This notice covers Preserving Preserves.
